Observations of my peers.......
Today's observations started out with Irene and Claudine teaching their direct lesson plan.
What a great job they did! They had excellent diagnostic questions and really grabbed the class' attention. They both were sure to check for understanding after each section of teaching and had some great ways of teaching the students how to pronounce harder names and words.
After they taught the students, they were sure to check for understanding by having them fill out a graphic organizer and reviewing them together as a class.
I really liked how they allowed the students to really think about the questions and allowed multiple answers before moving on, this is such an important part of teaching that a lot of teachers neglect to do. As soon as one student gets the answer they accept and move on, but not them!!! What a great job! For their summative assessment they also had a game on the SMART board it was a matching game and the students were so excited to break up into groups to answer the questions, it was really a great success. Both of them knew the material very well and did an amazing job! I cannot wait to see what their next lesson will be like!!!!
